Key facts and findings from the Integra Initiative will be presented in our satellite session, Making Sense of Complexity, at the IAS AIDS 2014 Conference Melbourne, Australia.

Facts, Findings and Answers

This interactive session will present evidence from the Integra research and address questions at the heart of SRH and HIV service integration, including:
•  Can SRH and HIV integration improve health, and service delivery outcomes?
•  Is integration cost effective?
•  Is quality of care affected by integration?
•  Does integration reduce stigma and support client choice?
•  How can we scale-up and better integrate SRH and HIV services?

Successful integration requires a health system-wide commitment at both planning and implementation levels.

Integration is associated with:

•  Better HIV testing outcomes & more consistent condom use
•  Improved quality of care
•  Improvements in efficiency through better use of human resources
•  Improved teamwork and provider motivation
•  Ensuring client choice
• Reducing stigma
